This award, conferred to young researchers (under the age of 40 or within 10 years after obtaining a Ph.D. degree), recognizes the outstanding research achievements in the field of Glycoscience. 3 recipients were selected for this honor this year. <\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jscr.gr.jp\/?p=contents&amp;id=18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.jscr.gr.jp\/?p=contents&amp;id=18<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The award proudly acknowledged Dr. Sakamoto\u2019s research work on \"Inhibition of axonal regeneration by glycans\". This study clarified the mechanism by which chondroitin sulfate (an acidic glycan) inhibits axon regeneration<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"> (Fig. 1)<\/span>.
