AI Infrastructure Division
Purpose / Contents

The AI Infrastructure Division serves as the core unit responsible for the next-generation information infrastructure of the Glycan Big Data Center. The division develops and operates large-scale computing environments and AI-driven analytical platforms to maximize the value of glycan big data generated and curated across the Center.
Leveraging a CPU–GPU hybrid High Performance Computing (HPC) environment, the division develops advanced integrative analysis technologies for glycomics and other multi-omics datasets. These efforts support research aimed at biomarker discovery, AI-driven drug development, and a comprehensive understanding of biological systems and disease mechanisms.
The division also utilizes the Total Human Glycome Atlas (TOHSA) as a central knowledge base and collaborates with data platforms established by other divisions to create an AI-ready data utilization environment. Furthermore, it serves as a hub for interdisciplinary research, fostering collaborations across information science, life science, medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences, while promoting industry–academia partnerships and the societal implementation of research outcomes.
Working closely with divisions responsible for data generation and curation, the AI Infrastructure Division plays a central role in knowledge discovery through AI and HPC technologies, contributing to the establishment of a world-leading research center for glycan big data science.
