Background of the recruitment and description of the project

The Tokai National Higher Education and Research System (THERS)—a federation of Nagoya University and Gifu University—aims to become one of the world’s premier research universities and to establish nationally and internationally recognized centers of excellence in its areas of strength. As part of this vision, the two universities jointly founded the Institute for Glyco-core Research (iGCORE), which since its launch in 2021 has advanced cutting-edge life-science research that fuses glyco-omics with mathematical and computational analytics.
We are seeking one Designated Assistant Professor to lead original research in glyco-omics integrative analysis, AI development, and interdisciplinary studies involving glycoscience and related fields.

Work content and job description
(Right after being hired)
1.Lead original research in glycomics integrative analysis, AI development, and validation in disease and drug discovery, with a focus on publishing results, securing patents, and obtaining external research funding.
2.Design transdisciplinary projects and serve as a hub that brings together researchers from biology, medicine, information science, and industry to launch collaborative studies.
3.Contribute to the development of the International Glyco-Innovation Platform promoted by the institute, particularly through joint research and data sharing with overseas research institutions and companies, thereby advancing the dissemination of glycan analysis technologies.
